Ms. Victoria Yazzie is a 1994 graduate of Monument Valley High School and a former ambassador for the Navajo Nation. She was Miss M. V. H. S. Multi-Cultural during her junior year, participated in the Student Exchange trip to Ohio, and was a member of the National Honor Society. Her parents are Leroy and Mary Lee Kinney of Kayenta, Arizona. She was born and raised in Cane Valley, Utah which is located east of Monument Valley. Victoria was raised by her maternal grandparents, the late Tony and Mable Yazzie.
Ms. Yazzie is continuing her educational studies at Dine College in Tsaile, Arizona. She is pursuing her degree in the field of Education Administration. Victoria's hobbies are horseback riding, being around the youth, and has an interest in the Native American Church. She was recently reunited with her Paternal Grandparents' family from Rock Point, Arizona. Her Paternal Grandparents are Sarah Littleben and Robert Brady. Victoria is a very outgoing person.
A message that she sends to the Navajo Nation people is, "We live in a beautiful place surrounded by four sacred mountains. Our cultural and traditional values are rooted deep into our history. We need to be proud as Diné because the Navajo people are an integral part in the progress of our Nation. Let us be one, united and living in harmony with a song and a prayer in our hearts . . . may in beauty, over you, come the dawning."
